The client's primary goals were to ensure the flat was warm, retained its heat and sound from neighbouring properties was drastically reduced or eliminated completely. To achieve this, high-performance thermal and acoustic insulation was installed on the walls, floors and ceiling. A natural cork floor finish was installed to further enhance both thermal and acoustic properties.

Maximising daylight within the flat was another key aspect of the design. New aluminum window frames were installed on all three windows, with single panes in the living room and bedroom to minimise the frame and maximise the amount of daylight. Upon completion, the flat was not only comfortable and quiet but also bright and welcoming.
