CORBIEHILL AVE

Overview

This 1930s bungalow was converted to reflect modern living patterns. With a large extension, the ground floor layout was reconfigured to form a spacious kitchen/diner with bifold doors to connect this space to the garden. The property retains a separate formal living room on the ground floor as well as three ground floor bedrooms and a wetroom. In the converted attic space, two new bedrooms were created along with a family bathroom and storage room.

Process

After living in the property for a year, the clients were keen to expand their home to accommodate a growing family. They knew they wanted a modern, open plan space but were unsure how best to achieve that from the existing floor plan.

Taking their lifestyle and needs into consideration, we worked together to develop a layout and flow that works for them, fulfilling accessibility requirements and modernising the space while still retaining many original features of the home. Throughout the construction phase, I visited site regularly to inspect the works and discuss progress with the clients.
